The Nerve 2017
2nd Annual Performance Art Festival
FATVillage Projects
Call For Proposals

Application Period is now closed. Check back soon to see which of your favorite performers is in the show!

Who:

Artists who use performance as a means of visual and conceptual expression. We are looking for multi-disciplinary, boundary pushing, indefinable and un-nerving performances. Performances that incorporate installation and performance that results in visual artifacts will be given the time and space necessary for their on-site creation. Performances that involve endurance and undeterminable time frames are also welcome.  Spoken word, experimental sound, multi-media experiences and genre bending performances are also welcome.

What:

The Nerve is Fort Lauderdale’s premier Performance Art festival.  It was voted the 2016 Best Festival of the Year by the Broward/Palm Beach New Times. Performances will take place over three days across multiple venues in FATVillage and their remains/documentation will be on view the following Saturday during the monthly FATVillage Artwalk.

Where:

FATVillage Projects is the creative hub of the FATVillage Arts District, Fort Lauderdale’s destination for creating and experiencing the contemporary arts. Our offices are located just North of Downtown Fort Lauderdale at 521 NW 1st Ave (between 5th and 6th Streets one block east of Andrews Ave). The Nerve will take place across multiple venues, and artists will be assigned to the FATVillage location that makes the most sense for their performance.

When:

The Nerve will take place March 17, 18, and 19, 2017. Additionally, the remains of the performances will be on view Saturday, March 25. Artists will have a full week prior to the festival to install on site.
